TREVOR LEE DOWNING
I began my career in the building industry working for my father, a developer and home builder. I started young, cleaning up job sites and gradually working my way through almost every trade, framing, finish carpentry, concrete, roofing, excavation, plumbing, you name it. While in college, I started my own little company focused on fine furniture and woodworking called Forest City Made. Over the years I’ve been commissioned for all kinds of projects, custom homes, furniture, restaurants, to name a few. Which has given me the opportunity to collaborate with top architects, well-known brands, famous celebrities, and, most importantly, genuinely great people.
I served 4 years in the U.S. Navy and I attended the Building Technology and Construction Management program at Portland Community College. My Navy training, my education, and my background in fine furniture making, allows me to bring both traditional craftsmanship and professional-level organization to my work.
I still find great satisfaction in what I do. Creating things, whether they are homes where families can grow and feel secure or commercial spaces where businesses can showcase their unique stories and brands. These days I am still a very small hands on business, operating under my own name, because I believe my work is an extension of who I am.
When I’m not working, I enjoy spending time with my family or exploring Central Oregon on my bike, skis, or paraglider.
